Day 35

September 4, 2009

Grandma is HOME! She has been since September 1st! She is doing wonderful! We had conversation as we spent about seven hours together today! She remembered holding William's hand in the hospital. When I arrived, I did not tell her who I was. I just greeted her and we started talking. Aunt Cindy was about to show me how to empty the cathetor bag when I told her I knew how to do it and that I do it every day at home for Mary. Mom arrived a few minutes later. Mom and I stood at the foot of the bed; Mom was on her right side and I was on her left. Since she is still paralyzed on her left side, she can not see out of her left eye and therefore could not see me standing there. She looked at Mom and said, "Lisa said she does this everyday. Did she change jobs?" That was amazing to me because not only did she remember who I was, but she remembered that I do not work with older people. Praise God!!!

Day 34

September 3, 2009

This barn is just what we have been hearing preaching on for the past several weeks. This is what our bodies, minds, and lives do when we neglect them. When we neglect to take care of ourselves and sepend time with the Lord.

Day 29

August 29, 2009

Barb brought a watermelon with her on the retreat! She prepared it with a pocket knife in the hotel bathroom sink.

Day 28

August 28, 2009

We went on a Ladies Retreat to the Carlisle Inn. We were early getting there, so Barb suggested we go to this cheese place and taste all of the different kinds of Amish cheese. They were delicious! We got to watch through a window while they made the cheese, too.
